Named after the race "Aston Clinton" in Buckinghamshire in England and after the constructor Lionel Martin.
Aston Martin Lagonda Limited is a British manufacturer of luxury sports cars, based in Gaydon, Warwickshire.
From 1994 until 2007 Aston Martin was part of the Ford Motor Company, becoming part of the company's Premier Automotive Group in 2000. On 12 March 2007, it was purchased by a joint venture company.
In recent years the company has changed hands several times and cars of distinction continue to be made.
Perhaps now most associated with James Bond and the lovely DB5, however the Vantage, Virage and Lagonda models
should all be briefly mentioned in this thumbnail history.
